Personal Background and Affiliations: Mr. Colella was appointed as a member of the Executive Board for the Michigan Association For Justice (formerly known as the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association), which consists of only the most respected and elite trial lawyers. He is also a member of the Detroit, Oakland, Michigan and American Bar Associations. He is certified as a mediator and regularly sits and hears cases for the Oakland County Circuit Court Mediation Program. In addition to his academic and professional associations, Mr. Colella is also an assistant coach and active player with the Detroit Tradesmen Rugby Football Club. He has played rugby in 7 different countries throughout Europe, Canada and the West Indies. Additionally, Mr. Colella has earned a 3rd degree black belt in the martial arts and has been involved in self-defense training of police officers, including local and state police.
